Robert Coburn is originally from Norfolk, VA. After high school, he spent three years in the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief with the 6th Infantry Regiment in Berlin. He returned home to attend college at Richmond Professional Institute (now VCU) in Richmond, VA, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Advertising. He also met his wife in Richmond while he was a student there. Coburn has worked at major advertising agencies in New York and Los Angeles. His ads have won top awards both nationally and internationally. He is an instrument-rated commercial pilot and plays the saxophone. He and his wife now live in Carmel, CA.
